The Elysian 2 is a substantial three-way standmount speaker — a full-range standmount from Wharfedale’s flagship Elysian range that delivers floorstander-grade scale from a stand. An 8.5" (220 mm) fibre-glass matrix bass driver, a 6" (150 mm) midrange and a 27 × 90 mm AMT tweeter reach a deep 28 Hz bass extension.

A true three-way crossover — at 360 Hz and 2.9 kHz — gives the dedicated midrange room to breathe, for outstanding resolution across a 35 Hz – 22 kHz response and a 109 dB peak SPL. At 89 dB sensitivity and a 4 Ω nominal impedance (8 Ω compatible, 3.6 Ω minimum), it makes the most of amplifiers from 25 to 250 W.

STORYTELLING AMT’s

Elysian’s AMT (Air Motion Transformer) is a radically different way of moving air. A large, pleated and lightweight diaphragm is driven across its surface by strategically placed metallic strips immersed in a strong magnetic field. The pleats expand and contract, squeezing air between them to create the waveform. The results are transformative. Highly efficient and highly accurate, violins cry in exquisite detail and sopranos soar to previously unimaginable heights. Elysian’s finely-tuned crossovers act with the authority of a music conductor, ensuring each component works in perfect harmony to give you a listening experience like no other.
