The Elysian 1 is a two-way standmount speaker — the compact model in Wharfedale’s flagship Elysian range, built to true luxury standards. A 7" (180 mm) coated fibre-glass matrix bass driver and a large 27 × 90 mm AMT tweeter deliver a sound far bigger and more refined than the cabinet suggests.
The fibre-glass matrix cone is exceptionally rigid and well-damped for low colouration, while the tall Air Motion Transformer moves a large volume of air for effortless, airy treble. A bass-reflex cabinet crossing over at 2.6 kHz gives a 49 Hz – 22 kHz response and a 108 dB peak SPL. At 89 dB sensitivity and a 4 Ω nominal impedance (8 Ω compatible, 3.8 Ω minimum), it rewards amplifiers from 25 to 175 W.
